Dave Redburn, one of the club's owners offered a compromise of 2 a.m. closing time on Wednesdays and Thursdays and a 3 a.m. closing time of Fridays and Saturdays. In exchange, he stated the club should be allowed to have full nudity and lap dances to continue. The council voted to proceed with the injunction. 20 years ago Monday, Feb. 26, the Kimball Fire Department was called to assist at a house fire on Aspenwood Road in South Haven. Cindy Croat rented the house with her two daughters. The family was not home at the time of the fire. It took about four hours to contain and put out the fire. The house was a total loss. 30 years ago Dean James Stang of St. Nicholas, a 17-year-old senior at Kimball High School, died Sunday March 2, after his clothes became entangled in a power takeoff on a tractor at his parents' farm. Dean was the son of Conrad and Eileen Stang. 40 years ago The Central Division of the United States Ski Association Select Class Championship Races were held Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 28 and March 1 at Mount Telemark, Wis. Twelve racers from the Powder Ridge team competed for Region 1. Members of the team from St. Cloud and Kimball received gold medals.
