Legal Notice CITY OF WATKINS MEEKER COUNTY, MINNESOTA ORDINANCE #2013-1 WHEREAS, the City of Watkins has a current Zoning Ordinance in effect; and WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Watkins Planning Commission on January 16, 2013 at 7:05 p.m. to hear public testimony on amending the current Watkins Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the Watkins Plan- ning Commission has adopted Resolution #1-2013, Resolution Recommending an Amendment to the Watkins Zoning Ordinance; THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED: Upon recommendation of the Watkins Planning Commission through Resolution #1-2013, the Watkins City Council does hereby amend the Watkins Zoning Ordi- nance as follows: Amendment to Article XXII. Definitions. ADD: Fish House - A structure used solely of fish- ing through the ice of a public water body. A fish house not sit- uated on a public water body and stored outside shall be considered as a detached accessory struc- ture. Applying the requirements of this ordinance, including but not limited to setbacks and lot cov- erage except a fish house which is currently licensed or had been licensed the previous year by the DNR, shall not count toward the maximum number of detached accessory structures allowed in the zone district. ADD: Lot or City Lot - A lot or city lot shall be defined as any sin- gle legal description on property within city limits. Amendment to Article II. Sec- tion 2.02. Accessory Buildings and Uses. ADD: Any city lot within city limits located in R-1 Residential and R-2 Multiple Family Districts shall be limited to two (2) acces- sory buildings. Accessory build- ings include, but are not limited to, any detached garage, storage shed, or fish house whether sitting on a foundation or not. The combined square footage for the two acces- sory buildings cannot exceed 1,500 square feet per city lot. This ordinance shall' be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as pro- vided by law.
