(320} 693-3281 SCSU offers entrepreneurial training Dislocated workers who are considering self-employment and entrepreneurs whose businesses are struggling are invited to regis- ter for a class offered by the Center for Continuing Studies at St. Cloud State University. The five-week FastTrac® NewVenture program to be offered April 2 to May 11, is designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs develop their skills and learn how to start and grow a new business. Partici- pants will develop a business con- cept and take it through each step of the business-planning process. The 30-hour course will close with completion of a business plan. The course is offered by the Cen- ter for Continuing Studies, which offers customized training, in col- laboration with the Central Min- nesota Small Business Develop- ment Center and area Minnesota Workforce Centers. It was made Computer instruction for seniors Kimball area seniors who are not yet comfortable using com- puter technology have a chance to learn some valuable new skills. The Kimball Public Library is offering a beginners program of "Computer Instruction for Seniors" from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Mon- day, March 23, at the library. There is no charge for participation. The program will provide seniors with all the-basic infqr- mation and skills required so they can feel comfortable sitting down to use a computer. They'll learn how to use a 'mouse,' how to get onto the Internet, how to use e-mail, how to search for infor- mation on the Internet, how to be secure using the computer, and many more basic features of com- puter use. This program Will be presented using a special computer lab. It was purchased by Great River Regional Library (GRRL), using Federal Library Services and Tech- nology Act grant funds adminis- tered through the State of Minne- sota. GRRL provides library ser- vice to 32 public libraries in Ben- ton, Morrison, Sherburne, Stearns, Todd and Wright Counties. "Com- puter Instruction for Seniors" will be presented at each library at least once during 2009. A member of the GRRL staff with special training will provide the instruction. The attendance is limited to 10, and pre-registra- tion is required.
