P$:I]O'I 1 Thursday, March 24, 2011 ews * Kimball, MN "" S.H. Post Office open; fire unsolved FFA Week Postmaster Doug Wilhelm (above) was happy to be back in the Post Office last Tuesday, losing only seven business days after a fire de- stroyed a neighboring building, and damaged the adjoining build- ing in-between. He is very grateful to Royal Renovations out of Clear Lake who cleaned every inch of the building to remove all trace of smoke smell and damage. The investigation into the fire contin- ues, and there is still a $2,500 reward for information that will help convict the person(s) who intentionally set the fire. Call (800) 723- 2020 if you saw or heard anything that can help solve this case. At right, the remains of the downtown South Haven building leveled by fire Saturday evening, March 5. Staff photos by Jean Doran Matua. Last week the Kimball FFA chap- ter celebrated FFA week. On Monday the school par- ticipated in a straw tOSS at ]unch and wore their favorite agriculture T-shirts to school. Tuesday FFA members wore their official dress, and there was an animal-calling contest at lunch. Wednesday FFA members served pie and ice cream to teach- ers to show their appreciation to the staff. Thursday was a great day: it was Drive Your Tractor to School Day. During lunch, students guessed the weight of a tractor, and after lunch the tractors paraded to the Elemen- tary School, Altogether we had 13 tractors, that is including the two ]awnmowers that also made the trip to the Elementary School. This has always been a great experience for the younger kids to learn about agriculture. Finally, Friday we wrapped the week up by wearing our favor- ite agriculture hats and had a FFA game night from 7-9 p.m, Submitted by Matt Massmann Kimball FFA vice president HC~m~kG LENDER A V Are You Considering Home Improvement Prq A V With today's low interest rates, there's no better time than now.
