There they found the owner of the home deceased, 63-year-old DeVan Hawkinson. He was the only occupant of the house. As of Tuesday, March 29, the case is being investigated as a "sus- picious death." Investigating offices include Annandale Police, Wright County Sheriff, Wright County Medical ExamIner, and the State Fire Marshal. Anyone with any informa- tion that could help solve this case should call the Wright County Sher- iff's Office investigation line at (763) 682-7637. Armed standoff On Saturday, March 26, at about 3:25 p.m., Meeker County Sher- iff's deputies attempted to serve divorce papers at a residence on 647th Avenue in rural Watldns. Upon the deputies' arrival, they met with the wife who said that just prior to the arrival of the dep- uties, she had informed her hus- band that she wanted a divorce. She explained that her husband responded to the news by retriev- ing a loaded shotgun from the home and retreated to the area of some outside storage structures located on the property about 100 yards behind the home. The depu- ties observed the husband outside in this area. Litchfield and Eden Valley Police Departments, the Stearns and McLeod County Sheriff's offices, Cosmos Police, and the Minne- sota State Patrol provided assis- tance. The Watkins Fire Depart- meot and Ambulance Service were dispatched to stand by during this time. Roads leading to and from the property were also secured. At about 5:20 p.m., after some brief dialogue with the subject, he surrendered to law enforce- ment without further incident. The loaded shotgun was also secured from the scene. There were no threats or other criminal actions by the male party who was trans- ported by Sheriff's deputies to Woodland Crisis Center in Willmar for evaluation. Early-morning fight At about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, March 27, the Meeker County Sher- iff's Office responded to a report of an assault with a knife at an address on 710th Avenue in Kimball. Kim- ball Rescue and Gold Cross Ambu- lance were dispatched. Upon the deputy's arrival, it was determined that there was no knife used in the assault. Matthew James Rich- ards, age 20, of Spooner, Wisc., was arrested for assaulting a 21-year- old male from Kimball. Gold Cross Ambulance treated both parties at the scene for superficial inju- ries. Twenty-year-old Erik Edward Rust,of South Haven, and 19- year-old Heather Leigh Carlson of Annandale were cited for minor consumption of alcohol. Mat- thew Richards was booked into the Meeker County Jail on charges of fifth-degree assault and underage consumption of alcohol. The incident is still under inves- tigation by the Meeker County Sheriff's Office. Kimball man sentenced Jesse Blaylock, 23, of Kimball was sentenced by Judge Ander- son March 16 to 90 days in jail for probation violations after a third- degree assault conviction. Pursuit, felony warrant and arrest Wednesday, March 23, just before noon, investigators of the Central Minnesota Drug and Gang Task Force tried to arrest Terrance Lafine Jones, age 30 of St. Cloud, for an active felony warrant for first- degree assault for a stabbing in Clay County in 2007. Jones is a confirmed gang mem- ber of the Gangster Disciples. Inves- tigators received information about Jones being in the St. Cloud area, and located him driving a vehicle in the area of McKinley Place and 8th Street South. Jones was park- ing in front of a residence when investigators approached and acti- vated their emergency lights. Jones sped away, trying to flee, but was hampered by the snow-covered roads. Investigators pursued Jones for four blocks with Jones circling the neighborhood block and stop- ping again in front of the same res- idence. Jones abandoned the vehi- cle and tried to flee on foot into the house. Jones was apprehended in the front yard and taken to the Stea- rns County Jail with new charges for fleeing police in a motor vehi- cle and driving after suspension. A detainer from Clay County was also placed on Jones. Meeker County Sheriff's Office Sunday. March 27 4:15 a.m. the Sheriffs Office received a report of an alarm at a business on Park Avenue East, Eden Valley. Stearns County Sheriff's Office also was contacted for assistance. The deputies checked the property and found all to be okay. 6:48 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to an alarm at a business on Park Avenue, Eden Valley. Every- thing was found to be okay. Saturday, March 26 11:47 a.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a 9-1-1 hang up at a resi- dence on 362nd Street, Watkins. Later a female party was transported to Woodland Crisis, Willmar. Friday, March 25 2:32 p.m. the Sheriffs Office dis- patched Eden Valley Rescue and Wat- kins Ambulance to a medical on State St. So, Eden Valley. One individual was transported to Paynesville Hospital. Thursday, March 24 6:59 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dis- patched Watkins Ambulance, Res- cue, and Fire to a motor vehicle acci- dent on MN Highway 55 near 647th Avenue, Watkins. The parties were treated on the scene. 10:58 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a request to assist the public at a residence on 365th Street, Watkins. The party was advised of their options. 11:56 a.m. the Sheriffs Office received a report of suspicious activ- ity at a residence on Church Street, Watkins. Upon arrival of the officer everything was found to be fine. 5:05 p.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a report of juvenile trouble at a residence on 365th Street, Watkins. A report will be filed. 5:24 p.m. the Sheriffs Office received a 9-1-1 call to assist the pub- lic in Kimball. The party was given the non-emergency number for the Stearns County Sheriffs Office. Wednesday. March 23 3:37 a.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to an alarm at a business on MN Highway 55, Watkins. The deputy found everything to be okay. 6:44 a.m. the Sheriffs Office received a report of a property dam- age accident that occurred in the parking lot on Church Street, Wat- kins. The deputy spoke to the individ- ual and they had exchanged informa- tion. No injuries were reported. 11:42 a.m. the Sheriffs Office dis- patched Watkins Ambulance to a medical in Stearns County on 185th Street, Kimball. One individual was transported to St. Cloud Hospital. 2:20 p.m. the Sheriffs Office dis- patched Watkins Ambulance to a medical in on Magnus Johnson Street, Kimball. One individual was transported to Buffalo Hospital. 8:32 p.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a domestic situation occurring on 375th Street, Watkins. Upon arrival, the deputies arrested Dominic Ronald Donnay, age 19, of Watkins, for fifth-degree domestic assault and minor consumption. Tuesday. March 22 9:07 a.m. the Sheriffs Office took a report of a theft from a residence on 375th Street, Eden Valley. 9:37 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dis- patched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on Glen Lane North, Watkins. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital. 4:33 p.m. the Sheriffs Office received a report of a possible sto- len vehicle from a residence on 657th Avenue, Watkins. The owner later learned the vehicle was not stolen. 4:36 p.m. the Sheriffs Office received a cellular 9-1-1 hang up call. A short time later the party called back reporting unsafe conditions on County State Aid Highway 2, Watkins. A deputy checked the area and found all to be okay. 8:20 p.m. the Sheriffs Office received a request for assistance at a residence on Meeker Avenue North, Watkins. The deputy advised the party of their options. 9:32 p.m. the Sheriffs Office took a report of suspicious activity at a resi- dence on MN Highway 22, Eden Valley. Monday. March 21 1:02 a.m. the Sheriffs Office assisted the Steams County Sheriff's Office in locating an individual at a residence on 362nd Street, Watkins. The dep- uty made contact with the individual who was advised to contact the Steams County Sheriffs Office. 11:53 a.m. the Sheriffs Office received a report of an Order For Pro- tection Violation at a residence on MeekerAvenue North, Watkins. Joseph Alban Meyer, 44 years old, of Watldns was arrested for violating the order. 2:24 p.m. the Sheriffs Office received a report of unsafe conditions on MN Highway 15, Kimball. Minne- sota State Patrol was notified. 2:39 p.m. the Sheriffs Office received a request to check the wel- fare of an individual who left a res- idence on State Street North, Eden Valley. The party was located and found to be okay. 6:02 p.m. the Sheriffs Office took a report of a motor vehicle accident on MN Highway 24, Kimball. The infor- mation was transferred to the MN State Patrol. There were no injuries reported.
