.............. ............. www.tricountynews.mn Local crime House fire in Dassel, April 3 Sunday, April 3, at 2:28 p.m., the Meeker County Sheriffs Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Dassel Fire Department, Cokato Fire Department, Howard Lake Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to a house fire in 74900 block of 240th Street in Dassel Township. No one was home at the time of the fire.A passerby observed smoke coming from the residence and alerted authori- ties. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The house and the garage are considered to be a total loss. The owners are Lindsey Bekkala, 31, and ]ared Bekkala, 32. The American Red Cross was contacted and did respond to the scene to assist the family. The fire remains under investiga- tion by the Meeker Co. Sheriffs Office. House fire in Lake Henry, April 1 Friday, April 1, at about 1:20 axrL, the Steams County Sheriff's Office, lake Henry Fire Department and Payneswille Ambulance responded to a house fire at the Goetzke residence located at 23273 State Hwy 4 in the city of Lake Henry. Victoria and Ronald Goetzke awoke to the smell of smo~ in their house and came downstairs to discover a fire in the kitchen. They were able to escape the house but suffered minor smoke inhala- tion and were treated by members of the Paynesville Ambulance at the scene. The cause of the fire is still under mvestag' atiorL Pole barn fire in Manannah "Twp. Monday; April 4, at 6:59 p.m., the Meeker County Sheriffs Office, Eden Valley Fire Department, Watkins Fire Department, Grove City Fire Department and Watkins Ambulance responded to a structure fire at an address in the 34300 block of 617th Avenue in Manannah Township. It was reported by the owner, Joseph Scholtes, 72, that his pole barn was on fire. Scholtes received minor injuries as a result of the fire but refused trans- port to the hospital. The barn and property inside are a total loss. The cause of the fire was from the homeowner burning wood in a burn barrel a distance from the barn. The grass around the burn barrel caught fire and then caused the barn to catch on fire. Approximately four acres of grassland around the barn were also burned. Wright County Sheriff's Office March 28, Jeffrey ]ames Sparks, 38 of Annandale, was arrested in Hennepin County on a Wright County warrant for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. March 28, Cassandra Faye ]anisch, 46 of Annandale, was arrested in Annandale on a Wright County war- rant for fourth-degree assault. March 30, Edgar Lloyd Morris, 45 of Cold Spring, was arrested in Monticello on the charge of check forgery. March 31, Charles Noyes Brooks, 64 of Annandale, was arrested in Annandale on the charge of driving after cancellation inimical to public safety. March 31, Todd Allan Linder, 29 of Annandale, was arrested in Buffalo on a Wright County warrant for disor- derly conduct. April 1, Ron Clayton ]ensen, 53 of Annandale, was arrested in Monticello on the charge of fifth-degree posses- sion of a controlled substance and a Redwood County warrant for driving after cancellation inimical to public safety. There were 20 property-damage accidents, 2 hit-and-run accidents, and 3 car-deer accidents. There were 3 arrests for DWI, 2 school bus stop-arm violations, and 71 tickets for miscellaneous traffic vio- lations reported this Week. Meeker County Sheriff's Office Sunday, April 3, 2016 6:46 a.m. the Sheriffs "Offme dis- patched Watkins Ambulance, at the request of the Stearns County Sheriff's Office, to a medical at a residence on Linden Avenue East in Kimball. One individual was taken to St. Cloud Hospital. 7:24 a.m. the Sheriffs Office assisted the Stearns County Sheriffs Office in making contact with an owner of a vehicle at a residence on 353rd Street, North Kingston Township. Saturday, April 2 9:50 a.m. the Sheriffs Office dis- patched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on Luella Street, Watkins. One individual was trans- ported to Meeker Memorial Hospital. 5:13 p.m. the Sheriffs Office dis- patched Eden Valley Rescue and Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on Hutcheson Avenue, Eden Valley. One individual was trans- ported to Meeker Memorial Hospital. Friday, April 1 11:01 p.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to and dispatched Gold Cross Ambulance for a report of a car/ deer accident near the intersection of US Highway 12 and County State Aid Highway 31, Litchfield Township. One individual was assisted at the scene and a report was filed. Thursday, March 31 9:58 a.m. the Sheriffs Office received a driving complaint on MN Highway 15, North Kingston Township. The caller was transferred to the MN State Patrol. 3:24 p.m. the Sheriffs Office arrested Michael Charles Schmidt, age 54, Litchfield at the Meeker CountyJail on a Stearns Countywarrant. 5:50 p.m. the Sheriffs Office assisted another agency at a residence on Meeker Avenue West, Eden Valley. Wednesday, March 30 12:08 a.m. the Sheriff's Off|ce dis- patched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on Hazel Avenue East in Kimball, Stearns County. One individual was trans- ported to the Paynesville Hospital. 12:04 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of a recovery of an injured eagle by a licensed animal rescue near MN Highway 15, North Kingston Township. Tuesday, March 29 8:21 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of criminal dam- age at a business on 4th Street North, Watkins. The deputy is attempting to contact the owner of the vehicle. 9:12 p.m. the Sheriffs Office dis- patched Watkins Ambulance to a medical on Danzig Road, Kimball, Stearns County. One individual was transported to St. Cloud Hospital. 9:43 p.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to an unwanted individ- ual at a residence on 318th Street, Kingston Township. The individual left for the evening. 10:58 p.m. the Sheriffs Office assisted the Eden Valley Police Department with a violation of a harassment order at a residence on Maple Street North in Eden Valley. Monday, March 28 8:59 a.m. the Sheriffs Office, at the request of the Stearns County Sheriffs Office, dispatched Watkins Ambulance for a medical at an address on Maus Drive in Kimball. The ambu- lance was cancelled by the Kimball Rescue Squad. 12:53 p.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to unlock a vehicle at an address on Western Avenue South, Watkins. 3:20 p.m. the Sheriff's Office arrested, Kevin Richard Litzau, age 59, Grove City on a Meeker County Apprehension and Detention Order for violation ofa pre-trial release order. 4:28 p.m. the Sheriffs Office dis- patched Watkins Ambulance for a medical at an address on Stearns Avenue North in Watkins. One indi- vidual was transported to St. Cloud Hospital. 6:18 p.m. the Sheriffs Offzce dis- patched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on Luella Street in Watkins. One individual was trans- ported to St. Cloud Hospital. 8:23 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a driving complaint westbound on County State Aid Highway 21, Kingston Township. The deputy located the driver and was issued a warning for their driving conduct.
