The Kimball city council voted unanimously April 3, 2006, to begin the eminent domain process on a 40 acre parcel of land owned by Jerome and LaVerne Scheeler. The land has been leased by the city for wastewater irrigation for many years, but this year the parties could not negotiate a lease agree- ment for the upcoming year. 20 years ago KAHS Student Council members sponsored a food shelf drive at the high school. Students and staff received a raffle ticket for every food item donated and a drawing was held. Local organiza- tions and businesses donated the prizes for the raffle. 30 years ago John Gannon, President, and Ron Wenzel, Director, of the Kimball Development Corp. wel- comed Eugene and Rosanne Dick, owners of J-Craft which builds truck bodies and equipment, to Kimball. (In 2002, J-Craft was acquired by Crysteel) 40 years ago Kimball expands as work is starting in the new"Kimball Industrial Park" just north of Highway 55 and west of Highway 15. Powder Ridge equipment is being used, manned by Ron Greely and Ken Goewey. Compiled by layne Harff
