Page 8 Students of Excellence Banquet April 28 The 23rd Annual Students of Excellence Banquet and Awards ceremony took place Wednesday, April 28, at the St. Cloud Civic Cen- ter. Students from Kimball Area High School that were recognized for their achievements were Kelsey Vigoren, Abigail Zoller, Shantel Tschida, and Sarah Messer. Welcoming the more than 630 guests attending was Dr. Rob Cavanna, Executive Director for Resource Training & Solutions. The area's top 164 high school seniors being honored represented 42 high schools in the central Min- nesota region. The keynote address was given by Jackie Pflug. Her story was about "Life is a Journey, Everyone Gets Hijacked Along the Way," the title of her book about being the victim of an airline hijacking in 1985. That situa- tion changed Jackie's life forever. Nehring graduates Megan Nehring is a 2010 grad- uate of the St. Cloud Christian School. Her graduation date is 7 p.m. Thursday, May 27, hosted by Calvary Community Church. Megan will be attending North- western College in St. Paul in the fall. Currently, she plans to pursue a degree in history with a political science minor. Megan's larents are Brent and Chris Nehring of Kimball. Broth- ers at home are Grant, Adam, and Brice. Sisters are Jennifer and Julie. The family is hosting an open house graduation party for Megan from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 29, at 12247 103rd Ave., Kimball. All are welcome. Sing America, Sing!
