Kimball trap shooters finish impressive season By Pat Garry, Staff Writer KHS Trap finished the sea- son strong, placing second in Conference 2 of Class 5A. Concerning individual accom- plishments, Jack Knaus finished 25th and Jacob Borman placed 112th out of more than 10,000 shooters. Jack Knaus is heading to State competition for individuals. This shoot takes place Saturday, June 25, at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake. Next up is sub-sections in Alexandria Saturday, June 18. "Come on up and watch us compete as a team to go to State," said Coach Rob Kuechle. The girls hosted West Lutheran Tuesday, May 24, for a Section 4A playoff game, and Kimball emerged victorious, 11-2. It is just the third time in school history that the Cubs have advanced to the section championship final game. Kimball also made it to the section final in 1993 and 2012. The Cubs have never advanced to the state tournament, but are one win away from making that a reality. The Cubs play at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Northwestern College of St. Paul. Cubs baseball team loses two to lags By Pat Garry, Staff Writer Kimball closed out the regu- lar season on Tuesday, May 24, by dropping a doubleheader to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa. Both games featured plenty of hitting, but the Jaguars took the pair of games, 5-4 and 13-3.
