Sheriff Nor- lin said these charges stem from an incident June 1, when Meeker County Sheriff's Office Deputies and the CEEVI Drug and Gang Task Force Agents executed a search warrant at 411 North 1st Street in Darwin, commonly known as the old lumber yard. During this search, deputies md agents found a small amount of methamphetamine, marijuana, other drug paraphernalia, and mul- tiple items with methamphetamine residue, including a scale. Sheriff Noflin said the Sheriff's Office had acted on information they received and worked with the CEE VI Drug and. Gang Task Force resulting in the search warrant. Huggett is not currently in jail, and his next court date has not yet been set. ATV crash in Collegeville Twp. Monday, July 11, at about 7 a.m., Stearns County Sheriff's office was dispatched with Avon Fire and Rescue, St. Joseph Police Dept., and Gold Cross Ambulance to an ATV crash with injuries. Charles Early Ward, age 40, of Cold Spring was eastbdund on County Road 51 on a 1999 Polaris 400 ATV when he made a sharp turn and rolled the ATV. Ward, an elk rancher, was trying to get an elk back into its enclosure after the storm when the accident occurred. Ward was treated at the scene by Avon Res- cue and taken to the St. Cloud Hos- ital ER by Gold Cross Ambulance." ssault/attempted murder arrest On July 5, 2011, at 1:58 p.m., investigators from the Meeker County Sheriff's Office along with the Hutchinson Police Department  arrested Kristopher Keith Litzau of Grove City, on an arrest warrant for second-degree attempted mur- der and multiple counts of second- degree assault at a motel in the City of Hutchinson. Litzau was hiding in the shower area of the motel room. This arrest stems from an incident on July 3, 2011, at 4:34 a.m., in Grove City. A deputy was responding to a noise complaint and while proceed- ing to the calL, dispatch was notified that there was a partyimthe yard with a handgun. Upon the deputy's arrival, the suspect, Kristopher Litzau, had fled the scene. According to multiple witnesses at the scene who know Lit- zau, including his ex-girlfriend, Lit- zau was at the residence in his vehi- cle, displayed a handgun described as a .45 caliber and commonlyknown as "the Judge" and repeatedly rammed an occupied vehicle at the residence. While doing this and driving in the yard at the residence, he drove over the feet of two victims who did not sustain serious injuries. Litzau then stopped his vehicle and fired one round in the direction of two victims from a distance of approximately 25 feet and left the scene. A round was later recovered at the scene approx- imately 8 feet away from where the victims were standing. A search was conducted with the Litchfield Police Department and Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office assisting. Litzau's vehicle was located and impounded. An arrest warrant was issued later in "the day and an intensive search continued for Litzau. A lead led Meeker County Investigators to Hutchinson where he was arrested. Shortly after the arrest, Meeker County Investigators recovered the weapon used in this incident hidden in the ceiling of the basement at a residence in the City of Litchfield. Litzau is currently being held in the Meeker County Jail on the arrest warrant awaiting his first court appearance. Wright County Sheriff's Office On July 9, 2011 at 6:18 AM the , Wright County Sheriff's Office received a report of a one vehicle roll over accident near 2775 County Road 30 SW in Woodland Township. A 1997 Jeep 'Grand Cherokee was eastbound on County Road 30 when it went off road and struck a power pole. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, lason Eberhard, 37, of Winsted was pronounced dead at the scene. Eberhard was wearing.a seat belt at the time of the accident. Ridgeview Ambulance and Waverly Fire also responded to the scene. The accident remains under - investigation by the Wright County Sheriff's Office. There were 16 property-damage accidents, 3 personal-injury acci- dents, 4 hit-and-run accidents, and no car-deer accidents. There were 17 arrests for DWI, 2 underage consumption arrests, and 47 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations issued this week. Meeker County Sheriff's Office Monday. luly 11 1:15 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dis- patched EdenValley Fire, per the request of Stearns County, for a barn fire at a residence on County Rd. 34, Eden Valley. Also dispatched for mutual aid were the Watkins Fire Dept. and Paynesville Fire Dept. Sunday. luly 10 12:01 a.m. a Sheriff's Deputy observed juvenile trouble in the area of Central Avenue South, Wat- kins. The deputy warned the two individuals of curfew and assisted them back to their residence. 3:09 a.m. a Sheriff's Deputy came upon unsafe conditions on MN High- way 15, Kimball. The deputy removed the debris from the roadway. 6:10 a.m. a Sheriff's Deputy took a report of criminal damage to property inthe area of County Road 8 and MN Highway 55, Eden Valley. 6:27 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to an animal complaint on 385th Street, Eden Valley. A dep- uty notified the owner and he cor- ralled the cattle. 8:34 a.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted with a property exchange on MN Highway 24, Kimball. 10:44 a.m the Sheriff's Office responded to an animal complaint on 150th Street, Litchfield. A dep- uty checked the area and the sheep were gone. o 3:04 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received information on juvenile trouble on Lake Ripfey, Litchfield. Meeker County Boat and Water assisted in" bringing back the swim raft to the swim area. 8:14 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Weather Spotters for a report of a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. Damaging winds and heavy rain were observed through, out the county as well as reports of tree fires, downed trees and power lines. Also reported by Weather Spotters in the area of 310th Street, Grove City was a funnel touching down; no other property damage was reported. 10:28 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of unsafe con- ditions at the intersection of 3rd Street North and Horace Ave. W., Das- sel. The deputy checked the area and found a downed power line. Excel Energy was contacted for repairs. 10:48 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a tree fire at a residence on 600th Avenue, Litchfield. The deputy checked the property and found that the tree appeared to have been struck by lightning and was not a hazard to any structures or property. Saturday. luly 9 8:22 a.m. the Sheriff's Office advised an individual of their options on harassment occurring on 330th Street, Watkins. 8:22 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a request to check the wel- fare of an individual at a residence on Meeker Avenue North, Watkins. The deputy made contact with the residents and found all to be okay. 9:13 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up at a resi- dence on 700th Avenue, Kimball.
