Page 2 Zamora wins BMX races Summer'Zamora recently participated in the American Bicycle Association BMX Land of Lakes National Races that were held at Pineview Park in St. Cloud. The Land Of Lakes National Races brought in 750 competitors. There were competitors there from 28 different states and five different countries. Among the 750 competitors were 28 Pro/Elite riders, who used these races to earn points for the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games. Some of the Pro riders include Maris Strombergs who was the 2008 Olympic gold medalist, Jason Carnes, Eddie Olson, Elliot McGrath and Pineview's own Alise Post. Alise did not race because of recent surgery on a knee injury, but the PROs were available during the weekend for auto- graphs and pictures. Summer raced in the 7-year-old Novice class. Some of the other racers were from Thunder Bay, Canada, Montana, South Dakota and Wyoming. Summer took first place Friday, Saturday and Sun- day. Summer has been racing since May of this year and has enjoyed every second of it; she got started through a St. Cloud Community Ed. Class. Pine view Park has been so welcoming and is very fam- ily oriented; it is FREE for spectators to watch the races, you can also watch races live on the Inter- net or watch races that have already passed.
