........ .......... www.tricountynews.mn Local crime blotters Crash causes chain of events Thursday, Sept. 1, at about 9:45 a.m. the Stearns County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call indicating that a dump truck had hit a power pole and the lines were down. Shortly after, they were given more informa- tion that a nearby residence located at 8988 320th St. in St. Wendel Township was on fire. When Deputies arrived they saw a power pole on top of a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Ralph Eiynck, age 77 of St. Joseph. Eiynck was trapped inside the truck until the power was disconnected by the utility company. Deputies also saw that the residence owned by Jennifer Waruert, 33, was on fire and noticed gas leaking. Investigation shows that a 2004 International dump truck from Schroder Inc., being driven by Ralph Schroden, age 65, had been dump- ing a load of soil in front of 8988 320th St. and started to drive away while lowering the dump box~ The dump box caught the powerlines that were across the road and caused the util- ity pole to break and fall onto the Silverado. Eiynck was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross ambulance. The residence is not inhabitable because of the fire. Assisting on scene was St. Joseph Fire and Rescue, St. Joseph Police department, Waite Park Fire, Sartell fire, Sartell Police, Gold Cross ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota State Fire Marshall. The crash is still under investigation. Fire destroys farm shed Aug. 31 Wednesday, Aug. 31, at about 7 p.m. the Stearns County Sheriff's Office received a call of a structure fire at the Michael and Eileen Stang residence at 19501 Schackman Lake Road in Luxemburg Township, which is about five miles southwest of the City of Cold Spring. A Stearns County Deputy arrived on scene and saw a large shed fully engulfed and another dairy barn that was nearby also on fire. The fire was believed to have started by a lawn mower that was put away while it was still hot, which started some straw on fire. The fire was put out by the Cold Spring Fire Department and they were assisted by Rockville, Richmond, and Chain of Lakes Fire Departments. Firefighters were able to save the dairy barn, but the shed was a total loss. Wright County Sheriff's Office Aug. 30, Jay-Dee Samuel Ewalt, 30 of Annandale, was arrested in Annandale on the charge of domestic assault. Sept. 2, Valee Jean Arntson, 32 of Maple Lake, was arrested in Buffalo on a Hubbard County warrant for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. Sept. 3, Todd Allen Nolan, 54 of Annandale, was arrested in Annandale on the charge of second- degree DWI. There were 25 property-damage accidents, 4 personal-injury accidents, 5 hit-and-run accidents and 4 car-deer accidents. There were 6 arrests for DWI, 1 school bus stop-arm violation, and 70 tickets for miscellaneous traffic vio- lations reported this week. Meeker County Sheriff's Office Sunday. September 4, 2016 11:14 a.m. the Sheriffs Office took a report of theft from a vehicle on Pleasant Street in Dassel. 11:40 a.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a report of suspi- cious activity at a residence on West McKinney Street in Darwin. DougLas William Gautsch, age 46 of Sauk Rapids, was arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle. 9:40 p.m. the Sheriffs Office took a report of theft at a residence on County State Aid Highway 19 in Kingston. Saturday. September 3 12:23 a.m. the Sheriffs Office assisted with a disturbance at a business on Central Avenue North in Watkins. One individual was transported to his resi- dence and advised against returning. 12:57 a.m. the Sheriffs Office con- ducted a traffic stop on Parker Avenue West, DasseL The driver fled on foot but the deputies detained him. Eliot Allen Bieniek, age 45 of Annandale, was arrested for third-degree driving while intoxicated. Gold Cross Ambulance was also dispatched to evaluate the driver for injuries. 11:18 the Sheriffs Office took a report of a domestic disturbance at a resi- dence on County State Aid Highway 19, Kingston. 7:16 p.m. the Sheriffs Office assisted an individual at a residence on Luella Street, Watkins. 7:58 p.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a report of a domestic dis- turbance at a r~'ldence on CSAH in Kingston. The deputies arrested Brian Edwin Pedersen, age 30 of Kimball, for domestic assault. 9:31 p.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a report of theft at a busi- ness on Veterans Drive, Watkins. The deputy spoke with an employee. The business declined further action. 10:19 p.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a report of a stray dog at a campground on 657th Avenue in Forest Prairie Township. The deputy transported a black and white female springer with a pink collar to the M eeker County dog pound. Friday. September 2 5:19 p.m. the Sheriffs Office took a report of a burglary at a residence on MN Highway 24, Darwin Township. 8:27 p.m. the Sheriffs Office received information regarding possible child maltreatment at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Court in Watkins. Thursday. September 1 12:21 a.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a report of suspicious activity at a residence on Meeker Avenue South, Watkins. Upon arrivalofthedep- uty, the vehicle was gone. 11:40 a.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a found item at a resi- dence on MN Highway 22, Litchfield Township. The deputy destroyed the item. 1:52 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to and dispatched the Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on Central Avenue South in Watkins. The individual was treated at the scene. No transport was needecL 4:20 p.m. the Sheriffs Office took a report of a criminal damage to property at an address on Central Avenue South in Watkins. 7:03 p.m. the Sheriffs Office dis- patched the Eden Valley Rescue Squad to a medical on State Street in Eden Valley. The rescue squad was cancelled prior to arrival. 8:13 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an animal complaint at a residence on CSAH 3 in Manannah Township. Upon arrival of the deputy, the deputy the cows were contained and a warning was issued to the owner. 9:36 p.m. the Sheriffs Office came upon an animal complaint at Pacific Avenue East in Dassel. The deputy secured the cow. PAGE 1016 September 8, Wednesday. August 31 11:46 a.m. the Sheriffs Office put a male Border Collie into the pound that was located at a residence on 325th Street in Kingston Township. 5:18 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dis- patched the Watkins Ambulance and Eden Valley Rescue to a medical in the area of Church Street and Central Avenue in Eden Valley. The officer on the scene canceled the additional units a short time later. 6:33 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a stalled vehicle on 312th Street in Kingston Township. The vehi- cle was moved when the deputy arrived. Tuesday, August 30 7:46 a.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted the Isanti Police Department with try- in4g to contact an individual at a resi- dence on MN Highway 15, Kingston Township. 8:03 p.m. the Sheriffs Office assisted the Eden Valley Police Department at a r~idence on Hillside Drive in Eden Valley. Monday. August 29 12:03 a.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a report of a distur- bance at a residence on CSAH 19, City of Kingston. The deputy spoke with an individual who was advised options and that it was a civil matter. 3:07 a.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to arequest to check the wel- fare of an individual at a residence on Church Street in Watkins. The deputies made contact with two individuals and mediated the situation and there were no further issues. 10:45 p.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to an alarm at a business on MN Highway 55, Manannah Township.
