Meeting will be at the Kimball City Hall. ... from the Tri-County News archives 10 years ago An armed bank robber got away with an undisclosed sum of money from the St. Augusta branch of the State Bank of Kimball Friday morning, Sept. 8. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office received a call at about 7:50 a.m. that the bank had been robbed. By the time authorities arrived, the suspect had fled on foot. 20 years ago Even though ski season is still a couple of months off, you would hardly know it by the activity that is occurring at Powder Ridge. This past summer, the Kimball ski area has been involved in an expansion of its chalet that will ad 12,000 square feet of workable space to its existing building. 30 years ago There were 2,050 4-H'ers from 85 counties exhibited or judged livestock at this year's Minnesota State Fair. 40 years ago State inheritance taxes will now be less burdensome for families who inherit small and middle-sized estates, according to Arthur C. Roemer, State Tax Commissioner. Under the changes in the law, the exemption for widows is doubled from $30,000 to $60,000. The exemption for wid- owers is increased from $6,000 to $60,000.
