Students 4 Youth Stearns County 4-H well represented at kin State Fair By JoDee Christianson, U of M Extension One-hundred Stearns County 4-H&apos;ers made their way down to the Minnesota State Fair Aug. 26-Sept. 6, to show off their 4-H project work from this past year in non-livestock, livestock, per- forming arts, and livestock judg- ing contests. This group of 4-H'ers earned: 22 purple ribbons (award of excellence), 62 blue ribbons, and 17 red ribbons. Below is a list of Kimball and Watkins 4-H'ers, the project they exhibited along with their placing and/or accomplishments within that project area. This year, 96 percent club participation was recorded with 26 clubs repre- sented. Of those 26 clubs, 382 4-H members showed off the hard work they put towards their 1,406 livestock and non-livestock proj- ects that were exhibited the five days of the fair. In turn, 110 of them will be trav- eling down to the "Great Minne- sota Get-Together" to represent Stearns County 4-H at the Min- nesota State Fair. 4-H'ers earned State Fair Trips in a variety of areas including the traditional non-live- stock and livestock trips, as well as leadership trips, animal judging contests, and Share-the-Fun.
