Page6 Obieuaries Gerald Almgren, 69 Gerald "Jerry" Almgren of Kimball, formerly of Fosston, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at his home. He was 69. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kim- ball with Rev. Dave Milz officiat- ing. Burial followed in the Kim- ball Cemetery. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball, and one hour prior to services at the church. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Gerald Dale Almgren was born Aug. 9, 1934, in Litchfield to Lars and Hedvig (Jackson) Alm- gren. He married Mona Mack- ereth on Jan. 22, 1955, in Kim- b. He farmed near Kimball and then from 1981-2002 he was a rancher in the Fosston area. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and Kingo Lutheran Church in Fos- ston where he was a former dea- con. He enjoyed hunting, fish- ing, breeding and raising horses, and his life as a cowboy. Ierry was preceded in death by brothers and sisters Carl Alm- gren, Vera Swanson, Fred Alm- gren, Lucille Jurgens, Wal(er Almgren, Dorothy McDonald, Robert Almgren and Joan Ohlin. He is survived by his wife Mona of Kimball; children: Gerri Lynn (and Ron)McWherter of Dassel, Mark Almgren of Watkins, Chad (and Cindy) Alm- gren of Kimball; four grandchil- dren: Dillon McWherter and Jer- ry, Jessica and Josh Alrngren; sis- ters: Carol Roberts of Topeka, Kan.; Mary Ann Nesseth of Livo- nia, Mich.; Betty Lou (and Dick) Peterson of Albuquerque, N.M. Pallbearers were Lyndon Van Vleet, Tony Maruska, Steve Watne, Bill W'flson, Doug Fjer- stad and Ellsworth Danielson. Honorary pallbearers were-all of lerry's family and friends. Music was provided by organist Lynn Hoff and soloist Ryan Rice. Frank "Lefty" Nelson, 87 Frank "Lefty" Nelson of Wat- kins, formerly of South Haven, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at his residence. He was 87. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Wednesda Oct. 1, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale with Rev. Edward Groop officiating. Burial fol- lowed in the Cokato Finnish Cemetery. Friends called one hour prior to services. Frank lrvin Nelson was born June 28, 1916, in Cokato to Frank Funeral Care Burial and C Services Owned by the Dingmann Family. Frank was preceded in death by his brothers Ernest, Lawrence and Elmer, and half-brother Rudy Sarenpa. Gladys is the wife of Pastor Russell Peterson. She lived in Cokato for 19 years and started 25 small ecumenical Bible studies in the area.
