PAGE 2 ] October 20, 2016 Local crime One-car accident Oct. 14 Friday, Oct. 14, at 1:04 p.m., the Meeker County Sheriff's Office received a report of a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of MN Highway 55 and CSAH 34, in Forest Prairie Township. The preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle driven by Lisa Colon, 47 of Watkins, was westbound on MN Highway 55, when a vehicle in front of her slowed to turn onto County State Aid Highway 34. Colon swerved to avoid a crash and went into the ditch. Watkins Ambulance transported Colon to Paynesville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle sustained minor damage. Also assisting at the scene was Eden Valley Police Department, Eden Valley Fire Department and Eden Valley Rescue. Kimball Police blotter Calls for the Kimball Police Department during September 2016 included the following: 2 agency assists, 2 alarm calls, 1 assault, 10 busi- ness checks, 1 bar check, 1 citizen con- tact, 1 domestic complaint, 1 driving complaint, 2 drug narcotic violations, 5 extra patrols, 2 harassment com- plaints, 1 hazard, 2 juvenile problems, 5 medical calls, 1 motorist assist/vehi- cle unlock, 3 personal assist, 1 pub- lic urination, 2 theft complaints, and 1 warrant attempt. There also was 1 driving-after-revocation citation, and 1 texting citation. There were 4 speed warnings, 11 equipment warnings, and 2 license tab warnings. Kimball Police spent 62 hours covering Fairhaven in September. These calls included 1 agency assist, 2 burning complaint calls, 2 medi- cals, 1 personal assist, and 5 suspi- cious vehicles; 8 speed warnings, 1 no- insurance warning; and 1 driver's license violation. Eden Valley Police blotter There were 63 calls in Eden Valley during September 2016 (compared to 74 in August). These included 15 mis- ceUaneons calls, 7 citations, 7 verbal warnings, 6 domestic calls, 5 thefts, 4 assisting other departments, 4 res- cue assists, 4 arrests, 3 assisting the public, 2accidents, 1 motorist assist, 1 fight, and 1 alarm. Watkins police blotter (by Meeker County Sheriff's Office) There were a total of 29 calls in Watkins, which is policed by the Meeker County Sheriff's Office. These calls included 6 traffic stop warnings (no citations), 4 medical calls, 3 thefts, 2 assist the public calls, 2 criminal damage to property, 2 disturbances, 2 calls about a vulnerable adult, and 1 each of the following: alarm, assist other agency, check the welfare, child abuse/makreatment complaint, driv- ing complaint, hit-and-run, suspi- cious person/vehicle, and trespass. Wright County Sheriff's Office Oct. 9, Jesse Duane Razink, 30 of Maple Lake, was arrested in Monticello on the charge of domestic assault. Oct. 13, Shawn Grant Krohn, 40 of Maple Lake, was arrested in Maple Lake on the charge of third-degree DWI. Oct. 13, Nathan Charles Homstad, 34 of Woodbury, was arrested in Annandale on the charge of fourth- degree assault. Oct. 14, Vanessa Jean Smith, 39 of Cokato, was arrested in Buffalo on a Wright County warrant for a drug violation. Oct. 14, CoryAndrew Kukowski, 38 of South Haven, was arrested in Benton County on a Wright County warrant for domestic assault violations. Oct. 14, lay Eric Brown, 45 of Kimball, was arrested in Monticello on the charges of terroristic threats and second-degree assault. Oct. 14, Trevor David Johnson, 18 of Clearwater, was arrested in Clearwater on the charge of theft. Oct. 15, Kristin Rakaiyah Burton, 22 of Foley, was arrested in Maple lake on the charge of theft. There were 23 property-damage accidents, 3 personal-injury acci- dents, 2 hit-and-run accidents, and i car-deer accident. There were 2 arrests for DWI, 1 underage-consumption arrest, 3 school bus stop-arm violations, and 79 tickets for miscellaneous traffic vio- lations reported this week. Meeker County Sheriff's Office Sunday. October 16.2016 2:21 a.n'L the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a disturbance near a residence on Meeker Avenue South in Watkins. The deputies made contact with several individuals and it was determined to be a verbal dispute only and parties were separated before the deputies arrived. 9:25 a.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to areport of a cow on CSAH 34 in Forest Prairie Township. The dep- utywas unable to locate the cow. 6:39 p.m. the Sheriffs Office assisted with a vehicle unlock at a residence on CentralAvenue North in Watkins. 6:48 p.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a car/deer accident on CSAH 24 in Dassel Township. The dep- uty checked the area for the deer and found it had run off. Saturday, October 15 10:21 a.m. the Sheriffs Office received a report of pontoon loose on Lake Francis in Kingston Township. The owner was notified. 3:26 p.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a report of a civil issue at a residence on Church Street in Watldns. The deputy advised the individual of their options. 8:25 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received information regarding missing pigs from a residence on 250th Street in Darwin Township. The owner advised a short time later that the pigs were located and back home. 8:37 p.m. the Sheriffs Office took a report of a two-vehicle property dam- age accident near the intersection of US Highway 12 and MN Highway 15 in Dassel. 11:04 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a stray black calf in the roadway near CSAH 34 and 380th Street in Forest Prairie Township. The deputies checked the area and were not able to locate the Friday. October 14 2:09 a.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a report of an animal complaint on CSAH 2 in Forest Prairie Township. The deputy was able to secure the animals. 8:39 a.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a personal injury acci- dent on MN Highway 24 in Darwin Township. The MN State Patrol also responded and wrote the accident report. The Litchfield Rescue Squad and Fire Department as well as Gold Cross Ambulance and the Litchfield Police Department also responded to the scene. 9:22 p.m. the Sheriffs Office responded to a report of an individual under the influence near the intersec- tion of CSAH 27 and 733rd Avenue in Kingston Township. The deputies made contact with an impaired individual who was trying to find a phone and was assisted with a ride to Casey's in Dassel. 11:26 p.m. the Sheriffs Office issued a citation for suspicious activity at a park on County State Aid Highway 2, Forest Prairie Township. 11:36 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to check the welfare of an individual at a residence on Central Avenue North in Watkins. The deputies made contact with the homeowner and it was determined that they were okay. Thursday. October 13 5:09 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a property damage accident with an animal on 260th Street, Darwin Township. Wednesday. October 12 6:00 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of theft from a residence on 5th Street South in Dassel. 3:20 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of theft from an address on CSAH 10 in Cosmos Township. Tuesday. October 11 12:01 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of suspicious activity at a residence on Church Street in Watkins. The deputy spoke to all par- ties involved. 1:08 p.m. the Sheriffs Office took information on a civilissue at a residence on CSAH 21 in Kingston Township. 5:05 p.m. the Sheriffs Office took a report of a burglary at a residence on MN Highway 15, Dassel Township. 10:46 p.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted Meeker County Probation with a probation check at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Park in Watkins.
