They will be dosed for Christmas Day and New Year Day. Applications available for the 2014 Physically Disabled Veterans Turkey Hunt The 10th Annual Physically Disabled Veterans Turkey Hunt is scheduled for May 6-8, 2014, at Camp Ripley near Little Falls. Veterans interested in participat: ing should contact Dennis Erie at (320) 255-6365, for application instructions. This special hunt is provided for physi- cally disabled veterans who are currently receiving outpatient care or are eligible to receive health care from the VA and cannot hunt during the regular firearms season. The Physically Disabled Veterans Tur- key Hunt is a joint effort of the St. Cloud VA Medical Center, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Minnesota National Guard, Camp Ripley, and is spon- sored by the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and their respective Auxiliaries. Winners selected in county's fall photo contest Record number of entries Stearns County's Web Team picked the winning photos in its "Fall Favorites" Photo Contest. Five winners were chosen in Stearns County's fourth annual amateur photo contest. An Huynh Olmscheid of St. Cloud won for her photo "Wandering through the native grasses at Quarry Park" lackie Deters, Albany, had her photo "Leaf Pile Jumping" make the top five Carol Horsman from Waite Park also had a winning photo with "Grasshopper Chapel at Sunset" Tim Johnson of St. Cloud won with his photo entitled "Boardwalk Loop" Michelle Meier, Watkins, had a winning photo called "Fall Harvest" All winning photographers took home a fall prize package. Stearns County received a record number of entries this Year with 123 photos submit- ted by residents from across Stearns County. A panel of five judges chose the winning photos based on creativity, originality, photo content and the photos' relevance to the "Fall Favorites" theme. The only requirement was that the photo must have been taken in Stearns County. "Every year judging these photos gets more difficult," said Janet Midas, Stearns County Public Information Specialist. "We really have some creative and great photog- raphers in Stearns County." Each winning picture is featured In the photo montage on the home page of Stearns County's website, co.stearns.mn.us. A display with all photos that were submitted will be in the Stearns County Administration Center, and later this month the display will move to the Stearns County Service Center. In addi- tion, all photos are featured in Stearns Coun- ty's online photo gallery, Facebook page, Twitter, Pinterest, Flickr, Google+, and Tum- blr. Photos could also appear in brochures and other materials promoting the County. "Fall Harvest" is the title of Michelle Meier's winning photo. Stearns County named it as one of their five winning photos this fall.
