This means that the park is offi- cially open until 11 p.m. daily. The lights go on at 4:30 p.m. and will flicker fifteen minutes, and again at five minutes before they shut off for the evening.. The ski trail of Quarry Park is the longest lighted ski trail in the State of Minnesota at 4.3 miles. The inner loop is groomed for clas- sical stride skiing and the outer loop is groomed for both classical and skate-ski styles, when there is enough snow. Because of the small amount of snow received so far, only one track has been set on the classical loop and the skate- ski loop has been packed without a track for classical style. A vehicle parking permit is required at Quarry Park. A daily pass can-be issued for the visitor at the entrance gate. Twelve-month permits can be ordered online, purchased at the County License Centers, or done through the self-permitting envelopes at the entrance gate. The State Ski Pass is not required for Quarry Park, but is required to ski the Wild- wood Trail near St. John's, just off County Road 51. Stearns County provides groomed cross-country ski trails at Quarry Park, Warner Lake Park, Mississippi River Park and Krae- met Lake-Wildwood Park. Trail conditions are updated regularly on the County's Web site at <www. co.stearns.mn.us>, under "win- ter ski trail conditions." All parks have been groomed, but with the thin snowfall conditions are fair except for Kraemer Lake - Wild- wood which is not skiable. If snow conditions improve, Stearns County Parks will look at providing a "Moonlight Ski" at QuarryPark using the Park Shop as a warming house and refreshment venue. That will be announced through media outlets if a date is set. For more information about directions, maps and trails about any county park or trail on a year- round basis consult the Web site.
